Planning Removal for a Heavy or Glass Dining Table

Describe the tabletop

State whether the top is solid wood, stone, glass, veneer, or another material. Give the length, width, thickness, and an honest weight estimate if you know it.

Check how it comes apart

Look underneath for removable legs, a pedestal connection, leaves, extension hardware, or a separate glass top. Do not dismantle unfamiliar hardware if it leaves a heavy surface unsupported.

Protect people before finishes

Clear the route and keep hands away from pinch points. A provider may use blankets, a dolly, or additional crew based on the material and access. Mechanical help is preferable when a bulky object cannot be safely handled by hand.

Count the whole dining set

List chairs, benches, a buffet, a china cabinet, and loose leaves separately. A complete inventory produces a more useful conversation than saying “one dining set.”
